This image was originally painted for The war dog association of Viet Nam dog handlers. There have been hundreds of breeds used in WW! and WW2 and the Viet Nam war. These Unsung Heroes saved countless lives by sniffing out booby traps and the presence of danger. There  was a petition started by the different war dog association branches to use this image on a U.S. postage stamp... it was rejected.. It makes you wonder why they've used James Dean and Lucy  but not the canine companions who helped save our lives.
